Welcome to the Commute
Like many projects in life, our website is still under construction and isn't fully launched. Yet, feel free to peruse the premises, and see what we are dreaming about being in reality some day.
The Spiritual Commute
A place for empowering the journey of spiritual questions
The Spiritual Side Matters
Our mission is to engage anyone on the journey of asking questions about church, God, and spirituality in a vulnerable and creative way
Where are you on the commute?
How do I know which part of the commute I am on?
At the Spiritual Commute, we find the language of lanes, ramps, and rest areas helpful in trying to describe what sort of journey we are on and the feelings/experiences associated with the trip.
Therefore, we have developed the simple Road Identification and Directional Evaluation (R.I.D.E.) tool to help you on your way to not only expressing where you are at...but where you want to go next.
The R.I.D.E. begins with thinking of a standard highway/interstate road in your mind. Then imagine there being four primary lanes. From right to left, there is a slow lane, a middle lane, a fast lane, and a carpool lane. On this road, there is also the standard on ramps and off ramps of the road, as well as rest areas that are scattered along the trip.
Now, think about your spiritual journey today. Where do you think you are at just based on the wording and images you have heard so far?
That second part of the R.I.D.E. process is understanding why you are in that particular lane and which way do you want to head. For example, you might be in the middle lane because you are slowing down from the fast lane, and you ultimately want to get to an off-ramp. Also, for example, you might be in the middle lane heading to the carpool lane because you are ready to do your spiritual journey with an initial community. Both individuals in the example are in the middle lane, yet they are there going in different directions and at different speeds. This is both the identification of the lane and the direction are important to note in the spiritual journey.
Now, after hearing more clarification, which lane do you think you are in and what direction are you heading in your spiritual journey?
We'd love to hear the answer and get the chance to ride along with you.

for they will be satisfied."

Create. Relate.
Generate
Everything we do starts with creation. Creation of videos, thoughts, and spaces which allow us to begin to relate. Relate to anyone who wants relationship...dare we say even community. From such a space, we hope to generate transformations and movements...for individuals, communities, and maybe even nations.
